Risk Disclosure
Effective September 6, 2024
Trading involves substantial risk and is not suitable for everyone. You may lose some or all of the money in your brokerage account. Do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose. Read this disclosure carefully before applying, connecting an account, selecting a trader to copy, or depositing trading capital.
No guarantee of results
No trading result is guaranteed. Past performance is not indicative of future results. A trader, strategy, instrument, or market that performed profitably before may perform differently in the future and may produce substantial losses. Hypothetical, simulated, back-tested, and historical results have inherent limitations and should not be treated as a prediction.
Copy trading is trading
Copy trading does not remove market risk. When a Pilot places a trade, the platform may transmit a corresponding trade to your connected brokerage account. Your account can gain or lose value as a result. Following another trader does not guarantee that a trade will be appropriate for your goals, financial circumstances, risk tolerance, account size, or tax position.
You choose whether to connect an account, which Pilot to follow, the capital placed in the account, and whether to stop or switch. You remain responsible for monitoring your brokerage account, understanding its settings and positions, and deciding whether copy trading is appropriate for you.
Execution and technology risk
Copied trades may not execute at the same time, price, size, or terms as the originating trade. Results can differ because of market movement, liquidity, spread, slippage, latency, account settings, broker rules, rejected or partial orders, disconnections, software defects, internet or power interruption, third-party outages, maintenance, or other circumstances. A stop, limit, or risk setting may fail to execute or may execute at a different price than expected.
The platform, brokerage connection, data feed, and third-party services may become unavailable. Technology can reduce manual steps, but it cannot eliminate trading, operational, cybersecurity, or counterparty risk.
Leverage and instrument-specific risk
Leverage and margin can magnify both gains and losses. Market movement may create losses exceeding the amount initially committed, depending on the instrument and brokerage agreement. A broker may liquidate positions, require additional funds, change margin requirements, or restrict trading with little notice.
Foreign exchange, options, futures, and other derivatives can be highly volatile and complex. Options may expire worthless. Futures and leveraged foreign-exchange positions may generate rapid losses. Liquidity may disappear during volatile markets, and an exit may not be available at the expected price.
Brokers, Pilots, and third parties
TradePilot AI does not hold your trading capital. Funds remain with the brokerage you select, in an account in your name. Your broker, payment provider, Pilot, and other service providers are separate parties with their own terms, fees, risks, systems, and obligations. TradePilot AI does not control their solvency, execution quality, availability, security, or conduct.
A Pilot's presence on the platform or review by TradePilot AI is not an endorsement, guarantee, or prediction. Published records may help provide context, but records can contain errors, may not reflect all costs or differences in member accounts, and cannot establish what will happen next.
No individualized advice
Website material is general information about the platform. It is not individualized investment, financial, tax, accounting, or legal advice and is not a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or copy a particular financial instrument, Pilot, or strategy. TradePilot AI is not your broker, investment adviser, fiduciary, tax adviser, or attorney. Consult qualified independent professionals about your circumstances.
Fees, costs, and taxes
Platform or membership fees are separate from the money in your brokerage account. Trading may also involve spreads, commissions, financing charges, exchange or data fees, taxes, and other expenses. Costs reduce returns and may increase losses. You are responsible for understanding the fees charged under your agreements and for your tax reporting and obligations.
Your responsibility
Before participating, review the platform terms, brokerage agreement, instrument disclosures, account permissions, and all applicable fees. Consider your experience, objectives, financial resources, and ability to sustain loss. Ask questions and obtain independent advice. By using the platform, you acknowledge that you understand copy trading carries the same underlying market risk as trading and that you accept responsibility for your connected account.
